Mr. Kinpachi in Class 3B

Kinpachi-sensei is a Japanese school drama. It ran for eight seasons on TV, from 1979 to 2011. There are about 23 episodes in each season. The scriptwriter is Mieko Osanai. The lead actor is Tetsuya Takeda.

Kinpachi Sakamoto was a teacher at Sakura Junior High School. He is in charge of Class 3B and solves various problems that occur in the class. The students grow through the teacher's education.

The characters in this drama are carefully portrayed. Each student has their own background and their own problems are described in detail. For example, delinquency and bullying, child abuse and gender dysphoria, suicide are some of the heavy topics that are dealt with. The teacher solves those problems with enthusiasm. The students change their minds and grow as human beings. It is very impressive to see them. Much of the language between the teacher and students is also fascinating.
